The aims of the senior school curriculum are to provide all children with a broad, balanced and differentiated range of subjects and tasks; for children to enjoy their studies and to leave school with the maximum grades and examinations that they can achieve.
Our departments are designed specifically for individuals who would benefit from an academic education in a small, hard working less pressurised family environment. We cater for gifted and talented children, dyslexic and delicate children; all with good conduct who are prepared to work hard towards their academic studies. Small classes enable us to develop self-esteem, which in turn promotes learning.
Children in Years 7 to 9 enjoy unique and tailored lessons taught by experienced and highly qualified educators. Targets are based around the National Curriculum with individual targets set for all children. Our children have wide-ranging abilities and backgrounds, which means teaching and learning at St. Crispin’s enables students to progress and achieve.
Children with Special Educational Needs, EAL students and Gifted and Talented students are catered for within small class-sizes, one-to-one tuition and tailored lessons.
Key Stage 3
All children continue to be monitored on their individual value added score (which is the progress students make between different stages of education) and also on their targets and 1-9 grades in order to prepare them for the next stage of their education and to ensure that each child’s full potential is being reached.
In the Senior school the children carry on with the Government’s National Curriculum in English, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography, French, ICT, Physical Education, Drama, Art and Design, Reading and spelling, Games and Music. They follow a unique Citizenship, PSHE and Religious Studies and British Values program to develop into active, global citizens.
Children make their GCSE choices in the Spring Term of Year 9, in preparation for the courses in Year 10 and 11, and meetings are held to inform parents of options and to help guide children and parents through the various options available. The GCSE course mainly commence in the Summer Term Year 9.

These are just some of the GCSE’s that we offer. If you are interested in your child taking a GCSE is not listed above, please speak to our Headmaster for bespoke GCSE requirements. An example of some of our bespoke GCSE’s that we have currently undertaken are Astronomy and Japanese and Mandarin.
In the Senior School we offer Functional Skills Levels 1 & 2 exams, which gain UCAS points, which can go towards University entrance and are included in Level 3 Diplomas at 6th Form level.
